Once Upon a Time: The Book!

Even if you haven't seen it yet, "Once Upon a Time" is undoubtedly one of the most interesting tv shows of the new year. Emilie de Ravin is set to join the show on episode 12 as a quest star. Until then, you can to take a glimpse of the magic of the show be reading the book inspired by the fairytales of "Once Upon a Time". The wait is almost over! "Love and Other Troubles" aka "Hulluna Saraan" will be released later this month and Emilie de Ravin is about to travel to Finland for the premiere and promotion of the film! The movie's Facebook page and finnish site www.iltasanomat.fi shared the news today. The site also posted a couple photos from the filming of the movie (You can see them in the post of course).

Something else you should know is that today the post production of the film is finally over. The people behind the movie's Facebook account informed us yesterday that the sound mix is almost over! The final cut is ready so let's wish that the result is what the expected!

Promotion for "Love and Other Troubles" has officially started!

In less than 25 days "Love and Other Troules" will be released in Finland and "Bronson Club" has started promoting the movie. As they informed us through the official Facebook page of the film, posters of the movie has started poping up in local theaters. You can see one on the left!
For those who are not familiar with the project, Emilie de Ravin's new movie is called Hulluna Saraan in Finish, which means "Crazy About Sara", and it will be realised in Finland on January 27th!
But the promotion of the movie does not stop here. If you live in Finland, you should defenately buy this month's issue of "Cosmopolitan" cause you will find a lot of things about the movie inside! As you can see below Adele is on the cover of the magazine:

As Emilie recently announced, she will travel to Finland soon, so along with the other cast and crew, she will promote the movie as well! Let's hope that we will have more information about the premiere of the movie, the shows Emilie is going to attend and more.

In order to support her new film, our favorite actress gave a new interview talking about her experience in Finland, her costars and more. It seems that Emilie de Ravin isn't done with "Once Upon A Time" yet and that can not be bad. Our favorite actress is still on the set of the hit tv series and here is the picture to prove it. You can barely see Emilie in the center of the photo, dressed up as Belle filming a scene for the show. And one is for sure. There is a lot of "green box"!
So far it is stated that Emilie will be featured in one episode, but let's hope that we will see her in more than one! Untill we find out, have an eye on the site for more updates!

As the most of you probably know, Emilie de Ravin is going to potray Belle from Beauty and the beast in one of the upcoming episodes of "Once Upon A Time". Since these news where announced, a lot of things about Emilie's participation in the series came to the surface. I collected them all and i will present them to you in this post.
First of all, in the photo on the left you can see Emilie on the set of the series in Vancouver. She looks gorgious in the "Belle" outfit and the brunette wig! I think Emilie will make a perfect Belle! In the photo you can also see Robert Carlyle, whose character is said to be connected with Belle.
Showproducer Adam Horowitz had a few nice things to say about Emilie's casting:"Emilie projects a very natural strength and warmth, which arecharacteristics we wanted to explore with Belle." He also added thatBelle's story will veer away from the traditional version in some ways, but wecan still expect to see some incarnations of Belle's father, the Beast, and Gaston.
Emilie's episode is called "Skin Deep" and will premire on ABC on Valentine's Day. Untill then you can watch the show on ABC every Sunday!

Emilie de Ravin joins the magical world of "Once Upon A Time"

After filming her new movie - Love and Other Troubles - our beloved actress is moving on by joining the cast of ABC's new hit show "Once Upon A Time". A couple of days ago, it was reported that Emilie was casted in the show for the role of Belle (the iconic princess from "Beauty and the Beast"). She will be introduced to the fans of the show in the 12th episode of the 1st season. This means that we will have to wait until early 2012!
There is not a lot information about the way her character will be presented. What we know is that "Emilie de Ravin's character will be connected in some capacity to Robert Carlyle's Rumplestiltskin and that, while there is no confirmation of the Beast himself, the Disney-created character of Gaston is planned to be featured as well" as www.comingsoon.net reports!
"Once Upon A Time" is created by Lost screenwriters Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and has a great cast which is consisted of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison and Lanna Parrilla among others!
I could have reported the news earlier, but i still have some issues with my internet connection. The problem is about to be solved though, so stay tuned for a lot of updates!

It's a wrap for "Love and Other Troubles"

After almost one and a half months of production, the shooting of "Love and Other Troubles" is finally over. The final scenes were filmed yesterday in Los Angeles!
As you probably know the production started last July in Finland and last Monday members of the crew flew to Los Angeles to film some remaining scenes that take place in the U.S. One of them is producer Essi Suomela who shared the news with her followers on twitter:

The producer also shared a couple of photos from the set. Unfortunately, they aren't featuring Emilie but you can see director Samuli Valkama and the crew filming in a seaside area and downtwon Los Angeles:

The movie is about to be released in Finland next year and stars Emilie de Ravin, Ville Virtanen and Jussi Nikkila. The script is writen by Katri Manninen and Samuli Valkama who is also the director of the project. Information about a possible participation of the film in a film festival or a U.S. release is not known yet, but i hope we have news soon!

Now that Emilie is participating in the finnish production of "Love and Other Troubles", media in Finland are focing on her, which is great. Since the shooting started back in July, sites have been covering all the latest updates by posting photos, videos, interviews and tones of information. Now a finnish newspaper called "Metro" has Emilie in it's cover. There is also an article about the movie inside the newspaper. Emilie spotted by Twitter users (?)

The shooting of "Love and Other Troubles" might have already started in the US but we still haven't any reports or photos from the set. On the other hand, some Twitter users might have located it Emilie in Boston and New York. Or at least this is what they insinuate.
On September 3rd, a Twitter user from Boston Twitted that he was sitting next to Emilie while another one from New York twitted that she also saw her a couple of days ago! As i told you, Emilie is currently filming "Love and other troubles" in the US and the exact location is not known, so they might saw her near the set of the film (according to the tweets i posted in my previous post, it seems that they are filming the movie in LA though). Then again, they might saw someone else and thought it was Emilie! Or they might didn't "tweet" from the place shown in their Twitter profiles.
Anyway, whatever happened, i thought i should let you know. Here are the tweets:

After learning all the latest updates of the film, it is time to have a closer look on the set of "Love and Other Troubles". The shooting might have ended but this doesn't mean we will stop have updates related to the movie! Below you can see some photos taken "on location"! In the first two photos you can see Emilie de Ravin and Ville Virtanen on the set "of a summer party" (you can see more pictures from that day in a previous post of mine: Brand new photo from the set of "Love and Other Troubles"). The rest of the photos featuring Emilie are probably taken in Turku or Salo, while the last one with Jussi Nikkilä is taken in Turku!
But i think i said enough. It's time for some new photos!

All the latest updates from "Love and Other Troubles"

A while ago i had reported that according to a producer of the film, the shooting of "Love and Other Troubles" was over. It seems this is not completely true after all.
Specifically, last week, producer Essi Suomela announced via her Twitter account: "Give a big hand to Emilie; last day of shooting! Thanks darling, you were amazing and we will miss you!" It seems that she was just reffering to the last day of Emilie's on the set! For the last 10 days, members of the crew of the film, have been updating their Twitter accounts, informing their followers about the process of the filming which means that the movie's production was not over! But today they made clear that after 32 days of shooting, it's a wrap for "Love and Other Troubles"! At least in Finland:

As you may know, most of the scenes of the movie were filmed in Turku (you can learn more about the town in my previous article about the movie: Everything you need to know about Emilie de Ravin's "Love and Other Troubles") but some other locations the shooting took place are in Salo! According to Finnish sites' reports, the cast and crew filmed scenes in a bar and in Salo's square about two weeks ago! You can see the town bellow:

And now here is some information about the movie's cast. First of all, Jussi Nikkilä was recently interviewed by a finnish site. He said a lot of things about the movie. He praised the script and reffered to a scene that had to be filmed numerous times because it was so funny that he couldn't stop laughing! Also when he was asked about Emilie he said among other things: "She is great". Another co-star of Emilie's, Jessica Grabowski, talked about her on Channel 4. She said that Emilie is really nice, friendly and not a diva!

Today finnish site www.nelonen.fi posted a brand new video from the set of the film. In the video you can see director Samuli Valkama and the rest of the crew shooting scenes with Emilie and her co-star Jessica Grabowski. "Love and Other Troubles" to be released in Finland this February? - Samuli Valkama's new interview

"Love and Other Troubles" director, Samuli Valkama, was recently interviewed by turkulainen.fi and was asked about the story of the film, the locations where the shooting took place and approaching Emilie! Apart from this interesting information, the interview gives us a hint about the film's release. Actually, the film is expected to premiere on February 2012! I suppose this information has to do only with the Finnish release though, but it's still great news! You can read parts of the interview below:

On choosing Turku for the shooting of the movie:
- Director, says that he did not want to shoot the film in Helsinki, but in some smaller towns. The group first visited the Saloon, but thought it was, after all, itoo small. They quickly found suitable shooting locations in Turku...
- Turku, architecture, buildings can be found in a large scale. Turku is a freshness of feeling, i was born in Turku, Valkama says.

On casting Emilie in the movie:
- We went through several different stages before we were able to discuss directly with the actress. De Ravin was immediately excited about the project. She liked the script!

Filming of "Love and other troubles" in Finland is over

It seems that it's a wrap for "Love and Other Troubles"! At least in Finland! After shooting started on July 19th, today a producer of the film announced via Twitter that it's the last day of shooting!
As you may know, a part of the film is gonna be filmed in the US, so the entire production will be finnished in September. The location where the movie will be filmed is not known yet, but i suppose it is Los Angeles!
A few days ago, the same producer of the movie announced in Twitter that she is gonna be in LA from September 12th to September 18th! Maybe, this has nothing to do with the movie but ,on the other hand, the remaining scenes of the movies might be filmed then. I suppose we will have more information soon, but for now you can check the tweet i was talking about below:

"The Hills Have Eyes" available on Blu-ray this September - Pre Order Now

After hitting theaters five years ago and collecting $69,623,713 worldwide, "The Hills Have Eyes" will be realised in Bly-ray on September 13th. The movie is considered as a really good remake and a great horor film. Some of you might don't like this particular gerne because of the disturbing scenes shown in such movies, but the majority of the horor fans would agree that "The Hills Have Eyes" is a good film!
It is directed by Alexandre Aja - who is also responsible for "Haute Tension"(2003), "Mirrors"(2006) and "Pirahna"(2010) - and the cast include talents such as Aaron Stanford, Kathleen Quinlan, Vinessa Shaw, Dan Byrd, Ted Levine and Emilie de Ravin of course!

"The Perfect Game" available on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD today

After hitting theaters last year, "The Perfect Game" is finally available on DVD. After being presented in "Dallas Film Festival" last March, "Image Entertainment" acquired all North American distribution rights and releases the movie on DVD and Blu-ray today! "The Perfect Game" is also availabe on VOD.

As you may know "The Perfect Game" is a troubled movie. As www.sefijaonline.com reports "back in 2008, Lionsgate was interested in releasing the movie. In late summer alone, the young, ambitious studio had had three new movies scheduled to release in August, four in September and three in October (including Oliver Stone‘s much-anticipated George Bush bio, W.) And, quite simply, that was too many. None of them made quite as much money as they had hoped, and Lionsgate didn’t have the ready cash to market that many films all at once–not without a hit on their hands. Something had to give. The Perfect Game, for instance. Its original release date of August 8, 2008 got bumped. Indefinitely. The balance of the summer, all of baseballs season a summer itself, slipped away. The film was submitted to a couple of festivals, but otherwise it languished entirely, and if Lionsgate’s original idea has been to hold it until the other films on its slate generated some new money…well, it didn’t happen."(...)

I managed to watch the movie and i believe it shouldn't have been treated that way! It was a great "family movie". But no matter what happened, "The Perfect Game", after beeing realised in a limited amount of theaters, is finally available for everyone! Look for it in your local DVD store and buy it, it really worths it! And if you are still not convinced, stay tuned to "Dedicated to Emilie", because a review for the movie will be posted soon!

A lot of things are going on on the set of "Love and Other Troubles" and a new interview of Emilie's just surfaced today! Emilie spoke with www.iltalehti.fi about her new project during the lunch break on the sixth day of shooting. Here is what she said:

Emilie talks about Finland:
- I did not know much about Finland, its just what was taught in school - a geographical location. I love to travel, so it was fun to come and explore the places before the shooting started.

Emilie talks about working on a bilingual project:
- It's cool. Few movies are trying it. It opens the film to an international audience, and bilingualism creates the subtle nuances of its own kind of humor.

Emilie about reading the script and doing a comedy:
-In March I got the script, i read it and loved it. Then we discussed through the Internet telephone service Skype with Sam (the director of the film). I had long wanted to do comedy, but something that is not quite so ordinary. Sam has a unique sence of humor. The manuscript was the most original comedy, which has been offered to me. It's not overbearing, but rather organic and natural.

Emilie talks about the movie's possibility to have international success:
- I believe in it. Sam has a unique sense of humor. Having lived in the United States and Australia, I believe that, at least in those countries' success is very possible.

Emilie also added that she likes to work on indipendent projects because actors and directors have the freedom to be creative and artistic!

One of the producers of Emilie de Ravin's new movie Love and Other Troubles, Andrew D Corkin, recently talked with www.ksml.fi about his new project and it's potential to have international success! Eventhough the article is in finnish, i hope i don't write something wrong. So here are some parts of it:

On how he met the film's director:
Common on-introduced me to producer Jesse Fryckmanille and Samuli (Valkama). We met in New York, and we became friends since the first meeting. Sam's manuscript was very promising and very cleverly translated in English, which made me confident.
On taking part in a finnish production:
Now is the best time to take part in a Nordic film production. Men who hate women was a huge international success. Also, Finnish films have gained a foothold. Aki Kaurismäki's Le Havre and other films like Rare Exports and the Iron Sky were really successful.The most important thing, however, about "Love and Other Troubles" was the exceptional manuscript.

The difficulties of working on a comedy:
A comedy is often difficult to translate. In one country, a comedy might be locally successful but it is not necessary the film is equally successful anywhere else.Sam's script was sharp, warm-hearted and fun. I knew that it sells. It is truly international, and the presence of Emilie will help, of course.

Katri Manninen, co-writer of "Love and Other Troubles" talks to "Dedicated to Emilie"

A few days ago, i decided to write an article about Emilie de Ravin's new movie "Love and Other Troubles". I included everything i found through the internet about the production, the cast, the place the movie is being filmed and anything related to the project! Today, while checking the comment section, i found out that Katri Manninen, the person who wrote the script with director Samuli Valkama, had left a comment!

As you can imagine this made me very happy! But what made me even happier is what Katri told me. I think you should see her comment too, so here is what she wrote to me:

...I'm Katri Manninen, the co-writer of the film.

I'll visit the set in a couple of weeks, so I haven't met Emilie yet, but one of the producers with whom I talked after the first week told me that they're all in awe with her.

She's extremely professional, keeps asking (good) questions and is also very sweet and lovely. Her chemistry with both men is great on screen, which makes me very happy, because chemistry is something you can't really make happen if it isn't there.

As that producer said: "We were very lucky to get her".

Also the mood in the set has been great -- even better than expected (and we expected it to be good, since the director is a kind, sweet and smart guy with a great sense of humor).

This is my third feature film to be produced (in addition to hundreds of TV show episodes I've written) and I have to say this is by far the best script I've ever written. It's funny, sweet, crazy and heartwarming. We started writing the project in 2008 and have written well over 20 major versions of it. When we wrote the final version of the script earlier this year, we really felt that we had finally got the story right.

The budget is comparable with $5,000,000 US budget -- sure it's a low budget for US but an average budget in Finland.

It was about time! Here is your first look at Emilie de Ravin as Sara in "Love and Other Troubles". Since the production started last week a lot of photos surfaced showing Emilie and the other members of the film but these are the first photos in which we are watching Emilie during filming!
As you can see, the photos were taken in the set of the summer party i talked you about in a previous post! Emilie is dressed properly, since she plays a line dancer in the movie. But i think i said enough. It's time for some photos:

It is the second week of filming for "Love and Other Troubles" and updates about the film surface eveyday. This time a finnish site called www.abounderrattelser.fi posted a new article for the movie accompanied with a new photo from the set (you can see it on the left). It is taken from the same place the last photo was taken. According to some information this is the set for a "summer party scene" with pony rides and line dancing performances.
In the same article, you can also read an Emilie's statement about the movie. It is in finnish so i translated it for you: "Playing in a bilingual film is interesting because it opens the door to new types of comedy." Let's hope that Emilie gives a full interview soon!

Today, the producers of "Love and Other Troubles" created the official Facebook page of the film. By being a member of it, you will be able to have access to everything posted about the film-photos, links from other sites or coments by the producers of the movie. You can also check "Bronson Club's" Facebook page for more updates!
Something else you should know is that the finnish title of the movie has been announced! It's "Hulluna Saraan " which means "Crazy About Sara". I like the title, i think it describes the story of the movie in a perfect way!

The filming of "Love and Other Troubles" is in process and a couple of new photos are online! Unfortunately, we can't see Emilie but it amazing that we have movie updates on a daily basis. In the first one (above), you can see the set of the film and members of the cast and the crew. Maybe Emilie is in the backround but we can not be sure about that! This photo was posted on a finnish site called www.ts.fi!

In the second picture, which was posted on Bronson Club's Facebook account, you can see some bottles. In know it might sounds weird, but these bottles bellong to the cast and the crew of "Love and Other Troubles". As you can see, each one of them has code names. Emilie's code name is "Nancy Callahan". For those who don't know, "Nancy Callahan" is a character from "Sin City". In the film adaption by Robert Rodrigez she was played by Jessica Alba! They probably chose this nickname, because Emilie's character, Sara, is is a line dancing teacher (Nancy was a dancer too)! Let's hope that more pictures will surface soon!

The cast and crew of "Love and Other Troubles" may had a little break this weekend, but the filming is far from over! A few hours ago, Essi Suomela, one of the producers of the film, tweeted about next weeks filming. As you can see above, the set of "Love and other Troubles" will be crowded with ponies and line dancers! I have recently read some scene descriptions (thanks to Ludelia from emiliederavinworld.blogspot.com) and one of the scenes they are going to film is a summer party with pony rides and line dancing performances. This scene will be shot on July 26th and July 27th in Peltola. I don't know about you, but i am really excited to see new pics of Emilie's from the set. I am sure she is gonna look great in her "line dancing clothes". Hopefully new set photos will surface soon, so stay tuned!

Everything you need to know about Emilie de Ravin's "Love and Other Troubles"

As you probably know, Emilie is currently working on her new project named "Love and Other Troubles". The filming takes place in Finland and it will last for almost a month. In this article i will try to categorize and present you every information has surfaced about the movie! So let's start.

First of all, i would like to start with the story of the film. The movie is descriped as "an almost romantic comedy" that focuses on the life of Ville, a former child star who has never beaten his dad in wrestling. He now leads a routine life in a small Finnish town giving guitar lessons to kids. His life, which usually works like clockwork, is shaken when his father, a washed-up rock star and an impulsive bohemian, shows up on his doorstep and announces that he needs a place to stay for a few days – or weeks. Ville does not know how to say no. But the worst shock comes when one night, his dad comes home with a girl about Ville's age. It's Sara (played by Emilie de Ravin of course), a funny and quirky American student who teaches country line dancing at the local activity center. After he and Sara become friends, and he realises that he is attracted to her, the awkward love triangle is ready. A few pony rides, line dancing face-offs and wrestling matches later Ville learns that he can be just as impulsive as his father.

So from what we learn, on the one hand Emilie will have the opportunity to show her talent in a comic role and on the other hand we will have the opportunity to witness her dancing skills for the first time! It sounds really tempting, doesn't it?

Obviously, Emilie will not be alone in the film. Her co-stars are two finnish actors named Ville Virtanen and Jussi Nikkilä. Virtanen will play the father while Nikkila will play Ville! Some of Ville Virtanen's projects are "Sauna", "Priest of Evil" and "Beyond" while Jussi Nikkila has participated in "Hymypoika", "Bastard", and "Ganes". Unfortunately, the supporting cast is not announced yet but we may have more information soon.

The screenwriters of the film are Katri Manninen and Samuli Valkama. Valkama is also directing. "Love and
Other Troubles is the first feature film Samuli Valkama is directing. He has previously worked on short films like Alright Love, which won a prize in Berlin. The film is produced by "Bronson Club" which is a Helsinki-based production company. BRONSON CLUB is a part of SOLAR FILMS, a leading Finnish feature film and TV production company which has produced some 20 feature films and television drama in addition to a variety of TV entertainment programmes for Finnish TV. Solar Films is a part of Nordisk Film.

Samuli Valkama

As i told you before, the filming has already started in Finland. They are currently filming scenes in a town named Turku. According to Wikipedia Turku is a medieval city situated on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River. It is located in the region of Finland Proper. It is believed that Turku came into existence during the end of the 13th century which makes it the oldest city in Finland. Because of its long history it has been the site of many important historical events and has extensively influenced Finnish history. For the year 2011, Turku has been designated to be the European Capital of Culture together with Tallinn, the capital city of Estonia. In 1996 it was declared the official Christmas City of Finland.

Besides from Turku, "Love and Other Troubles" will be filmed in Salo, another finish city and the U.S. The exact place hasn't been announced yet. It would be great though to see some known actors have a cameo in the film, playing Emilie's parents or her American friends.

The preperation for the film has started a while ago. Bronson company has been looking for extras, cars and other stuff that are going to be used on the set. As i informed you though, the filming started four days ago. Producers and other members of the film's crew has been tweeting about the process. Here are some of their tweets:

As for the movie's release, according to cineuropa.org the movie will be released domestically next spring in Scandinavia by Nordisk Film Production AB. So far we know nothing about the U.S. release of the film. What i can assume is that "Love and Other Troubles" will premiere in some Film Festivals before it finds a distributor in the U.S. Other "Bronson Club's" productions has premiered in festivals like Sundance and Samuli Valkama's latest short film was presented in Berlin Film Festival so there are a lot of chances to see this film in one of those or a similar festival. Furthermore, one of the producers of the film, Andrew D. Corkin, has a production company in NY and through his carreer, he has produced indies like Afterschool (which premiered at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival within the Un Certain Regard category and was nominated for the 2009 Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature) and Martha Marcy May Marlene (which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, in competition, eventually selling worldwide rights to Fox Searchlight and winning the Best Director Award). So i am sure that he will try to do his best with "Love and Other Troubles".

As for the film's budget, one part of it was given by "Finnish Film Foundation". The actual budget is €1,6. "Finnish Film Foundation" donated €680.000.
So, this is all the info i have learnt about the film. I hope i haven't forgot anything! The filming has ended for this week, so we will probably have more updates on Monday. As you might know, Emilie de Ravin has landed a new role in the romantic comedy "Love and other Troubles". It is a finnish production in which Emilie will play the female lead. Since the news were announced i have been searching for more information about the film, so later this day i will write an article including what i found. For now, i would like to inform you that the filming proccess has started. "Bronson Club", which is the production company of the film, has updated it's facebook account saying that they started filming today in a finnish town named Turku! Here is what they wrote:

"1st day on set of Love And Other Troubles! Turku is treating us with a beautiful weather and everything's going smoothly."

"The Chameleon" available on VOD - DVD release on August

As you may know, "The Chameleon" is currently showing in selected theaters and will be expanded in NY and Phoenix tomorrow. If you didn't have the chance to see it in theaters so far, don't worry, because the film will be released on DVD on August 23rd. "The Chameleon" is also available on VOD since June 22nd. As Keith Perkins from "LLeju Producitons" told me "....The Chameleon is a “Day & Date Release”.This means that a film is available of VOD BEFORE it hits the theaters....". As i informed you in my previous post, "The Chameleon" will be expanded in two more cities tomorrow.These are NY and Phoenix! I think that we all were waiting for this moment for almost a year. It was just announced that Emilie landed the leading role in a movie that will be filmed in Finland this summer. The production will start later this month and the filming proccess will end this August! According to the information announced Emilie will travel to Finland later this week! The film is called "Love and other troubles". The screenplay is writen Katri Manninen and Samuli Valkama. Samuli Valkama will also direct the film! Emilie will play a dancing teacher! Filmcritic.com praises "The Chameleon"

...the spellbinding journey of The Chameleon is no less captivating.

This is how Blake French from Filmcritic.com ended his review about "The Chameleon". In case you don't know it, "The Chameleon" hits theaters today (if you have read my previous posts, then you know) and one by one movie sites post critics about Emilie de Ravin's new film. Filmcritic.com is a site i trust and respect. Since i started reading it, i realised that the people who write their critics in the site are experienced and objective. This is why i was eager to see what they were gonna write about "The Chameleon". Fortunately, the review posted on Filmcritic is great. Blake French, who is the reviewer says some wonderful things about the film. You can read the whole interview below. I hope this motivates you to check the movie, if you live near in one of the theaters it will debut!

How difficult would it be to pass yourself off as someone else...specifically, a missing person? As Frederic Bourdin discovered along his infamous journey as a serial impostor, it's not that tough.

Based on the novel by journalist Christophe D'Antonio, The Chameleon focuses on the true story of Bourdin, who traveled extensively for years under one false identity after another. Eventually, after posing as several dozens different people, he was imprisoned for some of his crimes.

The film examines one particular account that eventually leads to his arrest, taking place in a small Louisiana bayou outside of Baton Rouge. After disappearing for several years as a pre-teen, the son of a distressed working class family appears out of nowhere, now a young man, in France.

With many memories missing and a distressed demeanor, Nick (Marc-André Grondin) returns to his family...who exhibit bizarre reactions. His sister (Emilie de Ravin) welcomes him warmly, while his drug-addicted, alcoholic mother (Ellen Barkin) seems troubled by his reappearance.

Even more peculiar, his trouble-making half-brother (Nick Stall) seems more infuriated than relieved to see Nick again. All the while, not one of these people questions the identity of the young man claiming to be their family member.

A local FBI agent (Famke Janssen) smells a rat, and begins to dig through the facts surrounding the disappearance and reappearance of Nick. There are many missing pieces to the puzzle...but neither Nick nor his family care to assist in her relentless pursuit of the truth.

Director Jean-Paul Salome seamlessly handles the intricacies of Nick's family unit against the soggy bayou setting. The internal tension amongst the family, which can be seen in their eyes, reflects years of abuse of torment. These people have been hurting for so long that they no longer feel the pain.

Yet, instead of rejecting these people as repulsive and dysfunctional, the audience is strangely drawn to them. The characters might be as pathetic as they come, but we still feel for them, and want to get to know them further. This is, of course, thanks in part to the brilliant performances from the well-selected cast members.

Leading the cast is the brilliant Ellen Barkin and Marc-André Grondin, who create a multi-layered and complex emotional bond as the mother and her alleged son. Barkin delivers one of the most stirring performances of her career, and is almost unrecognizable in the role.

Clearly a method actor, Barkin completely loses herself in the character, embracing the emotional intensity with a cold, bitter numbness. She could easily find herself nominated for best supporting actress come awards season.

Grondin, in a role which could have easily been overplayed, delivers a restrained and controlled performance, one that captures the quirks and eccentricity of the title character...but does so in an unexpected light that keeps the audience at bay yet acquires their affection, all at the same time.

During the third act, the film reveals some of its most pressing secrets, but fails to explore them in a fashion that satisfies the cravings it created in the first two acts. Still, while the movie is guilty of spending a bit too much time in the wrong places, the spellbinding journey of The Chameleon is no less captivating.

"The Chameleon" hits theaters in less than a week and all of you can support Emilie and the rest of the cast and the crew of the film!

"Dedicated to Emilie" organizes a fan campaign in order to support "The Chameleon" which will debut in select theaters on Friday. All of you can be a part of it. See how:

First of all, visit a theater near you that plays "The Chameleon" (ok, that's kind of obvious). Bring friends, members of you family's, colleagues from work and everyone else you can find! The movie will premiere in New York, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, St Louis and Portland! I will be able to post showtimes soon. In that way, you will know where to go and when to go!
If you decide to participate in the campaign, you can come here and tells us how many people you are going to take with you by leaving a comment in this post! You don't need to write your name. You can use a nickname or tell us where you live.

Eventhough it has been a while since we saw Emilie for the last time, today we have a new photo of hers. Emilie supported the "Catelyst Foundation" by participating in the "Take a Stand campaign". Other celebrities like Amanda Seyfried, and common people as well sent a photo of themselves with the sign " I am a catalyst to end human trafficking " in order to support the organization.

Hello guys! Sorry for not updating the blog for a while but i was really busy with my exams. But now that they are over i am planning to change a lot of things in the blog (i will inform you soon). For know i have some good news for "The Chameleon". After being postponed a couple of times, Emilie's new movie is finally coming out on July 8th. Last April, some big movie sites has announced that it was going to be released on June 10th. But there wasn't any kind of promotion by the distributor of the film, and nothing was mentioned in it's official site about it.

This changed a couple of days ago, when LLeju's site was updated! Today, i communicated with Keith Perkins, a representative from the company, and he confirmed the date. As he added "...the film will be a limited release. New York and Los Angeles are 2 of the 8 cities the film will debut. The other cities are: Phoenix, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, St. Louis. , and Portland." So if you live in one of these cities you could check the film when it comes out! I will try to film more information as soon as i can and i hope this is a chance for Emilie to make a public appearence (after a whole year) and promote the film!

'The Chameleon' to Be Released in Theaters in June

Awesome news everyone! According to www.hollywoodreporter.com The Chameleon is coming to theaters on June 10th! The official site of the film's distributor hasn't been updated yet, but the source is reliable! Let's hope that it will not change again! The Perfect Game coming to DVD this August

Last week, it was announced that "The Perfect Game", after being released in theaters last year, will be available on DVD this summer! "Image Entertainment" acquired all North American distribution rights to the film after watching it on Dalla Film Festival last month! "The Chameleon's" distributor might haven't announced the release date of the movie yet, but i seems that there are news about "Ball Don't Lie". While checking the IMDb page of the movie i found out that it is listed for a June 5th release! I checked the official site of it's distributor - Night And Day Pictures - but it has nothing related to the release date. I also tried to send a mail to them but there is a problem with their email and the message can not be delivered! The film was supposed to be released back on June 5th, 2009, so IMDb might mixed up the info. I will try to find out more, so keep an eye on the site for more updates!

I still don't believe it but it is true! Emilie is back! Someone took a picture of her while she was in an airplane (i think she was in a flight back to LA! I can't describe how happy i am that i see a new photo of my favorite actress after 8 MONTHS. You can see it bellow:

The Unofficial Remember Me Site Needs Your Help!

As i told you before almost one year ago Remember me was realised in theaters and www.rememberme-film.com wants to celebrate it! They actually found a really cretive way to honor the movie and you can be a part of it. Read more info in the following article that was originaly posted in www.rememberme-film.com a couple of days ago:

We are coming up on the one year anniversary of the release of Remember Me, and we need your help to create a special post celebrating the occasion!

We are looking for anything that shows and/or references why you love Remember Me. Fan art, a paragraph of text, an essay, a photo or a screencap, a video. Anything you can think of!

Emilie is the most popular person on "Box Office Mojo" today

I was checking the updates of BoxOfficeMojo when i realised that Emilie's profile in the site was the most visited one today. I didn't expect it since there aren't any news of hers but i am not complaining! I think it is a good thing that people are interested in her, even now that she is not working! I know that these aren't exactly news but it was the only thing i found! Let's hope that Emilie will be back in action soon!

Emilie going to Vegas!?

It seems that Emilie travels a lot lately. Last Friday she was spotted in a bar called "The Cobra Lounge" in Bellingham, WA and today a couple of Twitter users saw her in a plane heading to Vegas! I am very happy Em has time to travel and i hope she has a great time in Vegas! If she was there for work i would be even more pleased though ;)

Emilie spotted on "The Cobre Lounge" in Bellingham, WA

Last Friday, the owner of Cobra Lounge announced in his Twitter account that Emilie was at his bar! Here are the tweets:

I communicated with them in order to ask if they photographed her and if they knew why she was in the city. Unfortunately, they didn't take a photo of hers and they didn't know why she was there either... Let's hope that she is a part of a project that is filmed there!

UPDATE: I am really sorry but i was wrong about the location of the bar. The Cobra Lounge that Emilie visited is in Bellingham, WA, not in Seattle! Apparently, it's owner has bars in different areas (including Seattle). That's why i was confused (i am not from the U.S so i wasn't familiar with it). I would really like to thank a reader of the blog that mentioned that and commented in the post! Thnx anonymous friend ;)
